RCMS Reopening Information

Hello Rim Country students and families,

RCMS wanted to make sure you were all aware of some important information for our re-opening.  First, we are very excited for students to return to in person learning teachers and staff have been working diligently to prepare for our re-opening.  Please make sure your child's Chromebook is charged each day they come to school.  For those families who would like to remain distant please contact our guidance counselor Mr. Trevor Creighton.  He will adjust student schedule accordingly.  Also, if your student is going to remain distant there is a commitment for the remainder of the semester and their teachers will not be the same.  Please remember to send a mask to school with your child, as they are required to be worn on campus when social distancing is not possible. There will be also opportunities for mask breaks throughout the school day.  If you have any further questions please feel free to contact RCMS at 928-474-4511 or you can reference the "Reopening Update" letter sent via email from Superintendent Mrs. Linda Gibson.

It is imperative that you assess your child’s health before sending them to school.  Your assistance is greatly needed and appreciated to ensure the highest possible chance of remaining open for in-person instruction.  Please do not send your child to school if you have administered any fever/pain-reducing medication prior to school starting.

If your child is experiencing ANY of the following please keep them home:

  • chills
  • shortness of breath
  • muscle aches
  • sore throat
  • coughing
  • congestions
  • runny nose
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • new loss of taste or smell

If you believe that your child is running a temperature, please keep him/her home on that day and the following day. CDC guidelines recommend a return to school after a 24 hour period without a fever.

We are excited to return to in person learning on Monday, October 12, 2020.  It's great to be a Longhorn.!

Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer L.H. Murphy
Principal - Rim Country Middle School
